ROCKINGHAM BEACH CUP

The Rotary Club of Palm Beach (WA) inc. will host a community event that will provide an opportunity to showcase
Rockingham’s natural attractions, provide economic development and act as a fundraiser for the Rotary Club and its
beneficiaries, Australian Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, Varity Club of WA and Rotary projects.
The Rockingham Beach Cup is a truly unique event on WA’s social calendar. With 2016’s inaugural event an overwhelming
success, the Rotary Club of Palm Beach is planning a bigger and better event for November 10-12 2017.

This year we will have an expanded program taking the event to 3 days including:

• Corporate Golf Day
• Cycling Criterium
• Elite Foot Race
• Gala Dinner and Auction
• Huge silent auction through Gala Bid app.
• A full weekend of performances on the community stage
• Arts festival
• Street performers, buskers and more
• Family entertainment including kids carnival rides
• And of course the 6 race Rockingham Beach Cup
Gala Dinner and Auction

The dinner and auction will be the major fundraiser for the weekend and is to be held at the Gary Holland Centre on
Saturday 11 November 2017. 250 people will be in attendance for the dinner.
This will be a Black Tie event including a live auction, silent auctions, raffles and entertainment throughout the night.
Perth’s leading charity auctioneer, Tiny Holley has been booked for the event. The RAN Band will entertain the crowd
through out the night.

Community Festival
The artists and artisan’s festival will be held on Churchill Park on the weekend of 11/12 November 2017. The festival will
include buskers, street performers, sculptors, photographers, wood turners, a black smith pottery and glass displays and
local food providers. There will be a main stage with performers as well as street performers entertaining the crowds on the
café strip.

Corporate Golf Day
Played on Friday 10th November at Secret Harbour. Crafted into the spectacular ocean side landscape, Secret Harbour Golf
Links boasts 18 superbly designed holes and lies breathtakingly against the panoramic setting of the Indian Ocean. A
traditional Scottish links course with small pot bunkers, rolling fairways amid the natural sand dunes and spectacular ocean
views.

Cycling Criterium
Saturday 11 November 2017. A Grade Men’s and Women’s on the iconic foreshore of Rockingham’s restaurant and bar
strip. Racing around an 850m anti clockwise circuit. The tight circuit will provide plenty of excitement for riders and crowds
alike. This event will draw a large number of spectators who will enjoy a meal before or after watching this fast paced style
of race.

Horse Racing
The feature event to be held 12 November 2017 will see 6 horse races run along Rockingham Beach, commencing
at Wanliss St and finishing in front of Sunsets Café. Two marquees located on the will provide catering, entertainment and a
licensed bar. These will be ticketed events limited to 450 GA guests) and 250 VIP guests. Tickets will be pre sold. Free public
viewing is available from the area overlooking the beach in Churchill Park.
