THIRTY youngsters had a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours on the Mangles Bay Fishing Club jetty when they were introduced to fishing.
And they caught a mixed bag of fish, volunteer Alan Guthrie said later. "They were nice little fish for the kids," he said.
"There are quite a few butterfish and a few trumpeters, a lot of blowies and one striped pufferfish, which is not usually seen in the area."

A smattering of parents were also there to help the clinic volunteers and make sure their kids didn't go "into the drink".  The clinic had been scheduled for a week earlier but had to be delayed because of poor weather.  When it finally took place they couldn't have had a better day for it, sunshine with light cloud and just a gentle breeze so it didn't get too hot.  The Rotary Club of Palm Beach organised the youngsters to attend the clinic, which was run by Recwestfish.
The club's youth director Kevin Fahie said his grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed themselves and the next clinic – scheduled for December 11 – is already fully booked.
